Renewal

A kitchen full of fond memories

An Edwardian house in Barnes with a 1970s kitchen that had served well but was ready for an update. Initially Katie was keen to simply restore the original. Ultimately she decided to replace the cupboards and worktops in this modest redesign to achieve a more practical layout and more working space.

We made new cupboards and doors in hand painted MDF. A wide stave solid oak worktop and drawer boxes, finished in hard-wax oil with unlacquered brass knobs throughout. We retained the floor tiles, the (very kitsch) wooden ceiling and the 1970s lights.
